She is also certified as an Elementary School Teacher and Secondary School Teacher in the state of New Jersey.

Dr. Debbie has approximately twenty years of teaching and leadership experience that spans the public, private, and international sectors of education. She has taught at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. In addition she has led teams of teachers (K-12) in curriculum development, design, implementation, ongoing assessment, reviews, and revisions. Further, Dr. Debbie held an administrative position in an elementary school which she left several years ago to pursue her own educational consulting business. She began her teaching career in one of the oldest Islamic schools in the U.S.A., and is blessed to continue her leadership career at Manarah Islamic Academy.

Dr. Debbie’s educational philosophy is that all children can achieve great success in their learning and great schools are built when every classroom becomes a highly effective learning environment. A highly effective learning environment is one in which questions are valued over answers. Ideas come from a variety of sources, and a variety of learning models are used. Furthermore, the classroom and community have a strong connection, learning is personalized, and assessment is authentic, ongoing, and never punitive. Last, a highly effective learning environment is led by a highly qualified teacher, grounded in good learning habits, and provides multiple and diverse learning opportunities where practice remains constant. Dr. Debbie’s passion and commitment is to empower teachers to lead and students to become life-long learners of formal academics and their Islamic faith. Ultimately, the goal of a great Islamic Education prepares students to become leaders in their chosen fields of academia and become the future Ambassadors of Islam.
